Student Blogging Challenge 2011 Reflection
■Did you visit the actual challenge on the blog each week or did your teacher have a post on your class blog?
I visited it when it came on and when I was up to the next activity.
■Which challenges were the most useful?
The ninth challenge about favourites because I knew exactly what to do.
■Which challenges were the most interesting?
Global issues was my favourite because I made a Go Animate to demonstrate my message and that was so much fun.
■What would be some other topics you would like included in future challenges?
Make a video or an animated movie.
■Are more tutorial type challenges needed? eg how to make a link in your post
That could be a good idea because people who are new to blogging would like to know all those handy hints.
■Were the ‘Visit these’ posts useful?
They were very useful because I was able to learn about new cool websites to check out.
■Were the challenges where you had to embed ie polls, cartoons, wallwisher etc interesting or could you not embed due to being a free Edublogs blog or a blogging platform that didn’t allow embedding?
I was able to embed just about everything. I was able to embed everything I needed.
■Were there enough chances to visit blogs from overseas and make links with other students/classes?
I thought there was plenty of time to look at other students or classes blogs.
■Classes that registered – were there enough activities specific to classes?
I was not in a class so I would not have known though I would like to know.
■Did you make global connections?
There was one person from overseas who commented on my blog a few times and that was pretty cool.
■Anything else you would like to mention about the challenge in particular?
It was so much fun! I learnt lots. It was a great opportunity to connect with people all over the world.
