Just another weblog

2012 begins……..

Wow it is 2012 already. Last year has flown. This year we can look forward to many things. I am looking forward to being in Year six. It is so exciting. Did anyone make a New Year’s resolution? I was going to but I sort of forgot being so busy and all. I hope everyone has lots of fun these holidays. I am going away for a week so I won’t see you for another week.

See you soon,

Christmas in my house

Merry Christmas! This message is a bit late (sorry) but I hope you had fun. At 8:00am on Christmas day we raced in to get our presents. I loved my presents!

After showing everyone our presents, we got ready to go to my cousins’ house. It was so much fun! Maeve (my sister), Stephanie, Patrick (two of my cousins) and I sang Aussie Jingle bells. We got a huge round of applause.

Afterwards I played one of my exam pieces called Caleb’s Gorge. Next, my cousin Ronan played a couple of songs for us to sing along to. It was great.

                                    How was your Christmas?

2011 September Blogging Challenge

Student Blogging Challenge 2011 Reflection

■Did you visit the actual challenge on the blog each week or did your teacher have a post on your class blog?

I visited it when it came on and when I was up to the next activity.

■Which challenges were the most useful?

The ninth challenge about favourites because I knew exactly what to do.

■Which challenges were the most interesting?

Global issues was my favourite because I made a Go Animate to demonstrate my message and that was so much fun.

■What would be some other topics you would like included in future challenges?

Make a video or an animated movie.

■Are more tutorial type challenges needed? eg how to make a link in your post

That could be a good idea because people who are new to blogging would like to know all those handy hints.

■Were the ‘Visit these’ posts useful?

They were very useful because I was able to learn about new cool websites to check out.

■Were the challenges where you had to embed ie polls, cartoons, wallwisher etc interesting or could you not embed due to being a free Edublogs blog or a blogging platform that didn’t allow embedding?

I was able to embed just about everything. I was able to embed everything I needed.

■Were there enough chances to visit blogs from overseas and make links with other students/classes?

I thought there was plenty of time to look at other students or classes blogs.

■Classes that registered – were there enough activities specific to classes?

I was not in a class so I would not have known though I would like to know.

■Did you make global connections?

There was one person from overseas who commented on my blog a few times and that was pretty cool.

■Anything else you would like to mention about the challenge in particular?

It was so much fun! I learnt lots. It was a great opportunity to connect with people all over the world.

Christmas time is coming!!!

What is your favourite part of Christmas? My favourite part would be setting up the Christmas tree or going to see my cousins on Christmas day. Have you made your Christmas list ? Write it out soon or Santa might not be able to get the right presents.

I have played guitar since grade three. I started playing because of my brother Joseph. Since then I have done one exam and my next one is in a week. My teacher is called Lee.

My favourite song would have to be Caleb’s Gorge. It is a fast song that I had to learn for my upcoming exam. I have practised it for a long time.

I play guitar because it is fun and a good skill. I don’t like practising but I do it because as they say practise makes perfect. Learning an instrument can help you if you want to play music for money or become a music teacher. You learn to read music which is also a good skill.

One time I busked with my friend, Casey. We raised about $300 in cash. Instead of splitting the money we decided to donate it to the

The Don Bird Foundation

Thanks for reading my blog,

Kiera :)

This is my glogster on how to get comments. It works because I have been using it. If you have your own blog maybe you could make your blog better by using this glog.,
